Volunteers are a vital part of making Mystic South run smoothly. Mystic South Conference is a 501(c)3 entity, and is entirely volunteer run. We understand the hard work and sacrifice. You are appreciated and GREATLY valued!
If you have never volunteered with us before, please email mysticsouthvolunteers@gmail.com in order to be put on the mailing list. You will be alerted from this email when volunteer registration opens, so please add it to your Safe List.
As a volunteer you are Security, Customer Service, and Ambassadors of the conference. You will be expected to familiarize yourself with the layout of the conference, so you can direct people to the workshops, vendor area, and restrooms. You will be expected to make sure everyone attending a class is wearing their Mystic South badge. You will be expected to download the Sched app to stay apprised of any class changes and to assist conference goers.
We want you to experience as much as the conference as you want as well! Once we start making the schedule, you will be asked what classes you want to attend. We will do our best to schedule you around the classes you want to take.
This is a very important job, but an extremely fun one as well. We hope you’ll join the fun!
FAQ
Is parking free for volunteers not staying at the hotel?
No one gets free parking. However, you will receive the discounted daily rate as long as you remember to ask for your discounted parking ticket at the conference registration table.
Do volunteers need to register for the conference before registering to volunteer?
This is not necessary. If you are sure you are going to be attending and want to volunteer, you can wait for the email alerting you of the opening of volunteer registration.
I already paid for my registration but I decided to volunteer, will I get a refund?
If there are spaces still available for volunteering, you’ve registered as a volunteer, and you have already paid for registration, please contact us at the email above to discuss options.
I want to volunteer, should I wait until volunteer registration opens to book my hotel room at the host hotel?
NO! Never wait to book your hotel. You can always cancel later (for free, within 2 days of check-in) if you can’t make it. Book your hotel room ASAP!
