Your Mystic South Team

It takes a village to create a conference, and Mystic South is no different. Take a moment to meet the team behind the conference. If you’re so inclined, feel free to seek them out at the Conference (they’ll be the ones with “Staff” badges, walkie-talkies, running around making sure everything is flowing smoothly for all of our attendees).

Your Mystic South Board: Jay, Bri, Stacy, Gypsey, Marla, Heather, and Nathan

Heather Greene

Areas of Influence: VIP coordinator, Hotel contact, Bookkeeper

Heather is a journalist, writer, editor, and award-winning author based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work has mostly been focused on the areas of religion, the occult, pop culture, film, and witchcraft.

She also loves telling the stories that lift up voices not typically heard and highlight the faces not typically seen.

Debra Buris

Areas of Influence: Vendor coordinator

Gypsey is our vendor coordinator and is responsible for the vetting and managing of our vendor room.

In her spare time, she is an elder and high priestess in the Georgian tradition and Gyđia in the Icelandic Norse tradition. She is also the author of The Witch’s Guide to Wands, Norse Divination, the upcoming Broom Magic, and The Encyclopedia of Norse Cosmology. She likes to describe her job as carrying frogs in a bucket.

Marla Roberson

Areas of Influence: Presentations coordinator, schedule maker, making your decisions hard

Marla reviews all presentation submissions, creates the jam-packed schedule that you enjoy each year, and makes everyone take group pictures.

At home and at Mystic, she’s the herder of cats, and occasionally chickens. She is also a Georgian elder and High Priestess, a Faery Seer in the House of Brigh, and a lover of the ocean.

Nathan Hall

Areas of Influence: Marketing, sponsorships, Sched-wrangler, content creator

Nathan creates the bulk of the email newsletter content you receive, as well as helps direct our marketing efforts on social media. He’s point person for any sponsorship opportunities offered at MSC. In addition, he is the individual who puts together our digital schedule each year.

Nathan makes his home in South Florida where he lives with his wife and son. He grew up without any real religious background but always felt connected with the spirits of the land. Because of this connection he has always felt a strong kinship with environmental causes and the primacy of nature over humanity’s exploitation of it. Nathan has followed many paths, including ceremonial magick, heathen, Druidic and witchcraft traditions.

Stacy Psaros

Areas of Influence: Technical director, social media, emails, webweaver

Stacy posts the funny memes and informational posts to our social media outlets. She also crafts and sends the email newsletters you receive, and keeps our website up-to-date with information about this year’s conference.

A Yankee by birth, she migrated to Florida 20+ years ago. Stacy is active in her local and state-wide Pagan communities. This includes being technical director for The Wild Hunt, the online Pagan news journal. She is a Strega, daughter of Neptune, chosen of Minerva, and a Faery Seership Apprentice. When not linked into the internet Matrix-style, she’s busy kicking Cancer’s ass, making messy crafting projects, reading, or playing video games.

Jay Lohr

Areas of Influence: Security, making sure Bri stays happy

Jay Lohr has spent a large part of his life seeking. Having worked with Native American spirituality, and Asatru, he now follows the Old Ways of his Scottish ancestors and is studying traditional German craft. Jay has worked many a conference in his day, along with running a chapter of the New World Celts with his wife, Briann. This experience has been invaluable to him while working with Mystic South. He spent many years practicing various martial arts. He recently discovered his true passion is for Tai Chi. He immediately became a board-certified instructor of Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention through the Tai Chi for Health Institute. He absolutely loves teaching Tai Chi and deeping his knowledge and practice of it. Jay has a quiet strength about him that makes him ideal for his role as Head of Security at Mystic South. He can calmly diffuse or handle any situation easily. A gentle giant of bear in a kilt is what his wife calls him.

Briann Lohr

Areas of Influence: Registration & Volunteers

Briann (BREE-uhn) Lohr has been a witch most of her life. Having an epiphany in church one Sunday, at the age of 10, she suddenly knew she wasn’t Christian. She didn’t know what to call it, she just knew she believed more in the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythologies she was obsessed with, rather than the teachings of the church. A life long seeker, she’s walked both the Solitary and Coven paths. After running a chapter of the New World Celts for five years with her husband Jay, she developed a great talent for cat herding and nailing Jello to a wall. She is delighted to bring these talents to her MSC positions of Volunteer Coordinator, and Registrar. If you ever need her, you’ll find her at the registration desk displaying her Gods given talents of RBF (which has been known to scare both children and adults alike), and sarcasm. Despite this outward first appearance, she loves to laugh, is quite goofy, and loves herself a bawdy tale.
